Ekern Home Equipment started in 1952 in Flandreau, South Dakota. We've grown carefully — adding Brookings, a bigger crew, more services — without losing what made people call us in the first place.
Our story
We started fixing furnaces in Moody County after WWII. Plumbing came next, then air conditioning when central air became a real option for South Dakota homes. The trades changed; the way we treat customers didn't.
Today we run two locations — Flandreau and Brookings — with NATE-certified HVAC technicians and master plumbers on staff. Most of our crew lives within 15 miles of the people they serve. When we recommend a brand or a repair, it's because we'd install it in our own homes.
We're not the cheapest in town. We're the ones you call when "cheap" already failed and you want it done once.
What we promise
On time, in uniform, in a marked truck. We call before we arrive.
